"Aside from having one of the best names in recent memory, Celestial Sanctuary nails the related tags of kneeling at the altar of Benediction and Cancer with a short demo of horror and laid back decay."

"First off, the band is named after one of Bolt Thrower's songs. And they are also British. That should be enough for you to understand what type of music we deal with here. Obviously Bolt Thrower is not the only influence for Celestial Sanctuary, at least that's what I hear... You could also add Asphyx, Grave, etc. It's just that heavy, but brutal and vicious death metal, with a bone crushing, dismembering massive sound."

Emerging from the London Fog, not unlike the legend of Jack the Ripper, Celestial Sanctuary have come to bear the torch for UK Death Metal into the next decade. While their Mass Extinction demo was self-released under the radar in October of last year, it was bold announcement to the world that UK Death Metal is not to be ignored. Despite their humble DIY beginnings, the demand for this demo tape was such that the band have pressed it over 4 times!! Paying homage to their countries' metal contribution by taking their name from a Bolt Thrower tune, the band are full of British pride having even spouted the term NWOBDM ( New Wave of British Death Metal )!
Upon hearing the demo for ourselves, Redefining Darkness knew there was something truly special here and wanted to share that with the world with an official cassette release of the demo under the RDR banner with the promise of the band's debut full length to come by the end of the year. Accept this demo as a hefty appetizer for what is to come from this young band who are about to put the UK on the map just as Napalm Death, Bolt Thrower, Benediction, and Cancer did before them.
